Today’s sitting of the group on economical issues was held by the OSCE’s new coordinator, Ambassador Ulrich Brandenburg, who immediately became actively involved in the work on agenda.
In particular, the opinion was expressed that the work of state enterprise "Water of Donbass" is vital for the whole region and for the preservation of the enterprise it is necessary, first of all, to conduct an audit of the proposed plan.
“We welcome the awareness of the importance of the issue of continuing the enterprise work “Water of Donbass” on our territory, however, we emphasize that it is the chronic non-payment of salaries that jeopardize this work. Therefore, the repayment of debts to employees of the enterprise is a priority task that needs to be solved independently of the coordination and audit, these two issues should be considered in parallel” - Natalia Nikonorova said.
The Plenipotentiary also drew the attention of the new coordinator, that the most important issue on the group’s agenda is the coordination of the mechanism for Ukraine to pay pensions to low-mobility citizens living in the Republics.
“We hope that on this issue the work of the group will be intensified in the near future, because at the moment there have already been presented enough developments on the mechanism of such payments” - Nikonorova emphasized.
