The highly publicized projection of the pro-Nazi film "Myth" in Danaos Cinema in Athens, organized by the Ukrainian Embassy, in direct co-operation with the US Embassy, ended in a fiasco. Already from the day before, the cinema had downloaded the advertisement from its website, and had received dozens of disapproval messages both on the phone and on the internet. The “Campaign for Boycottage of Danaos Cinema” also made cinema owners think again of their attitude. On the day of the show strong police forces were called to the cinema. Eventually, the crowded projection ended in a fiasco. Neither 50 viewers entered the cinema, and their overwhelming majority were members and executives of the Ukrainian and US embassies and Security men. Outside the cinema, members of anti-war movement informed the advertisers that they were coming to Danaos Cinema to defend their anti-fascist position. Basically, among them were veterans, for whom the topic of the war against Nazism is especially close. Note that just before the start of the film came US Ambassador himself, Geoffrey Pyatt. His presence also demonstrates how important it was for the US to promote this particular Nazi film.
