Today, negotiators in the working group on security issues focused on discussing the consequences of violations of the existing truce and related coordination of additional measures by the parties to strengthen and control the cease-fire regime.
In particular, within the discussion framework of the existing truce, Republican negotiators emphasized an increasing number of shelling by the armed forces of Ukraine, including heavy weapons, as well as  regular media coverage by the Ukrainian media of targeted attacks on the territory of Republics with the use of UAVs, which is contrary to paragraph 7 of the Minsk Memorandum.
“In this context, the subgroup on security issues needs to intensify the coordination and introduction of additional measures to control and strengthen the truce. For our part, we suggested at the next meeting to agree on those additional measures on which the parties have a consensus, and the Contact Group will approve them.
We also proposed to supplement the package with a measure that would clearly regulate a process of coordination and control over the implementation of additional security guarantees during various events, including repair and restoration work near the contact line” - Natalia Nikonorova said.
In addition, the participants of the Contact Group noted positive results of the parties conducting demining action, according to the proposal made by the OSCE SMM at previous meetings on humanitarian demining of preschool and educational institutions located in front-line settlements.
