At the last meeting of the Contact Group on March 27, the group on security issues was instructed to intensify work on agreeing on additional reinforcement and control measures, so forthcoming Easter truce can lead to a sustainable and comprehensive cease-fire.
“We have repeatedly stressed that we are interested in establishing a truly comprehensive and sustainable cease-fire, but for its effectiveness, we emphasize once more, it is necessary to introduce additional measures to control it. We are open to dialogue and ready to work in any format in order to reach consensus on this issue.
In this regard, we fully support the extraordinary meeting of the working group on security issues and the Contact Group via videoconference on the date proposed by the OSCE - April 18. We hope that this time the participants’ efforts in the negotiations will lead to a real positive result.” - Natalia Nikonorova informed.
