Today, at the Contact Group meeting, regarding the security issues, Republics positioned themselves principal and insisted on the urgent need to solve the first task that the working group could not handle yesterday - agreeing on a package of additional measures to strengthen and control the unlimited ceasefire of July 21.
“Republics have indicated that the key task in terms of security issues is the approval of a list of additional measures to control the current indefinite truce.
Despite a slight general decrease in escalation, attacks on the territory of the Republic did not stop and still lead to civilian casualties and damage to housing and infrastructure.
We continue to believe that the written obligations of the parties to implement these measures will transfer the responsibility for their implementation into the legal field, which will allow truce discipline.
Republics urged to discuss these measures point-by-point, while our position remains the same: the list of measures must be supplemented taking into account realities to strengthen control over the ceasefire on the contact line.
Therefore, the publication of relevant orders, the ban on opening any fire and the availability of operational communications in case of violations are measures that must be unconditionally approved by the parties” - Nikonorova stated about the course of the Contact group meeting.
The DPR Plenipotentiary also raised the issue of destroying the OSCE SMM camera complex in the area of the village of Petrovskoe near the disengagement area.
“We look forward to a more detailed technical examination and the publication of its results in the OSCE SMM report, and we are ready to assist the process in every way. For our part, the Representation of the DPR in the JCCC conducted an appropriate investigation, the results of which were published.
We have no doubt who and for what purpose destroyed the camera. On June 3, when the SMM team checked out what happened to the camera, observers recorded violations of the ceasefire by the AFU. Moreover, in a fresh report, the Mission noted that on June 8, in the immediate vicinity of the disengagement, it saw 7 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who unloaded ammunition boxes (including boxes with rocket-propelled grenades) and transferred them to an underground structure. Also, the patrol recorded 2 armored combat vehicles (such as infantry fighting vehicles) under a camouflage net among residential buildings in the village of Bogdanovka, which is near the disengagement area” - Natalia Nikonorova said.

The OSCE coordinator noted that as part of the commission of the leaders of the Normandy format regarding the coordination of the three new sections, some progress was outlined and we can talk about the understanding reached between the parties on two possible sections in the area of the villages of Petrovka (LPR) and Grigorovka, it remains to determine the third.
“In the context of the further implementation of the disengagement of forces and hardware of the parties, the most important aspect is the coordination and signing of the Supplement to the Framework Decision, which negotiators of the security group have finally begun to discuss. I would like to see more results of this discussion, this work should be more active, and we expect that at the next meeting the participants will pay more attention to this issue” - Natalia Nikonorova summarized the security results.
