Today, as part of discussion of the security group sitting results, the Contact group participants heard a report of the coordinator Ambassador Cevik, who spoke about the situation with the working, in his opinion, Measures to control the ceasefire regime, as well as the progress in coordinating repair and restoration work at Marinskaya gas distribution station.

“We do not share Ambassador Cevik's optimism regarding the action of the Measures: we still believe that the Ukrainian side disavowed them, refusing to use the mechanism for verifying the violations committed.

According to the DPR Representation in the JCCC, in the first 20 days of this year, the AFU fired our territory about 100 times, using almost 500 ammunition, of which 70 were 82 and 120 mm mines prohibited by the Minsk agreements. This information is also confirmed in the OSCE SMM reports.

It is necessary to agree and re-sign the detailed version to make measures work in full, including the mechanism for verification and response to violations. A clear instructions should be given to the group on security issues. Unfortunately, in the new negotiating round, the Ukrainian side continues to block this work.” – DPR Plenipotentiary told about the situation with the Measures’ implementation.
Problematic issues related to events at the Marinskaya gas distribution station (GDS) were also discussed.

“Regarding the repair and restoration work at the Marinskaya gas distribution station, despite the fact that both sides – we and Ukraine – provided additional security guarantees, today the Ukrainian armed formations have twice fired the village of Staromikhaylovka, which is located in close proximity to the area of the planned events, as a result of which 3 residential buildings were damaged.

If ceasefire violations repeat, we will be forced to withdraw security guarantees, as we intend to exclude any additional danger to the life and health of civilians.” – Natalia Nikonorova explained.
