At today's sitting of the group on security issues, negotiators noted significant progress in the security situation, in connection with the ceasefire agreed at the last meeting and additional measures to strengthen and control it.

“We are confident that it was precisely the additional measures that the Republic fundamentally insisted on agreeing to a significant role in stabilizing the security situation. At the same time, we hope that the current truce will be really indefinite and the Ukrainian party will show the necessary will for that.

Such steady observance of the silence regime, vital for the peaceful Donbass inhabitants, will undoubtedly allow the negotiators to concentrate on settling economical, political and humanitarian processes” – Natalia Nikonorova emphasized.

A significant reduction in ceasefire violations and the absence of consequences allows us to restore parity on the part of the armed forces of Ukraine in the areas of settlements of Petrovskoe and Zolotoe.

“At the meeting of the Contact Group, we confirmed that we are ready for any immediate date for this process, as well as to discuss new areas for further withdrawal of parties’ forces and means on the contact line. The head of the Ukrainian delegation suggested setting a date at the next meeting, August 21. We hope that the date will be agreed and the parity in the implementation of the Framework Decision by the armed forces of Ukraine in the pilot area of settlements Petrovskoe and Zolotoe will be restored in the near future” – DPR Plenipotentiary said.
