Today's extraordinary sitting of the working group on security issues, convened at the initiative of the Donetsk People's Republic, had a zero result.

In response to the photo-evidence provided by Republic’s representative of the use of prohibited types of weapons and ammunition by the AFU, the Ukrainian side stated that the shelling of the village of Staromikhaylovka is supposedly staged.

Moreover, the Ukrainian negotiators openly ignored proposals to improve the coordination mechanism, as well as ideas to amend the text of measures to control and strengthen the ceasefire.

Nevertheless, in order to achieve concrete results, DPR representative Alexey Nikonorov voiced a proposal to hold a videoconference with the participation of representatives of both parties to the conflict in the JCCC in the current composition on any suitable date. Such an additional meeting is necessary to discuss the issue of ensuring security during repair and restoration work at civilian infrastructure facilities near the contact line.

We hope for a constructive approach of the Ukrainian authorities in the matter of coordinating and holding the videoconference we have proposed.
