The Contact Group meeting on humanitarian issues did not bring positive results. The DPR Plenipotentiary once again drew attention to the inadmissibility of the inadmissibility of humanitarian goods through the checkpoint from Ukraine.
“At the previous meeting of the Contact Group, we tried to clarify the position of Mr. Kravchuk regarding an absolutely incomprehensible situation for us: at the Elenovka-Novotroitskoe checkpoint, the Ukrainian side closed access for humanitarian aid from international organizations, but at the same time it allows citizens to cross the contact line through this checkpoint in normal mode. Today, when the meeting was attended by the deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation, Mr. Reznikov, we tried once again to get the answer to simple question: why does Kiev consider the pass for cargo to be unsafe, but does not see any danger in the issue of citizens crossing? However, the representative of Ukraine did not answer this elementary question, repeated by us many times”- stated Natalia Nikonorova.
This Kiev’s approach to both the safety of citizens and, in general, to behavior on at the Minsk negotiations serves as eloquent proof that Ukraine is interested in neither a real peaceful settlement nor the life and health of more than 4 million Donbass residents.
