The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic welcomes interest and attention of the members of the European Parliament towards the conflict in Eastern Ukraine but recommends using facts but not conjectures.
5 April, the so-called reports were presented in the European Parliament «Russian War Crimes in eastern Ukraine» and «28 hostages of the Kremlin». The authorship of the report on the war crimes belongs to the Polish politician and European Parliament member Małgorzata Gosiewska. The presentation involved Nikolai Tochitsky (The ambassador of Ukraine to the EU), Jean Picto (the president of Polish-Ukrainian organization on cooperation), Aleksandr Pavlichenko (the member of Kharkov group on human rights protection)? The victims Irina Dovgan and Aleksandr Khomchenko.
According to the DPR MFA information, the so-called report was prepared by the authors who had never visited the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic and it contains the photographs mostly from social networks and other media sources, the veracity of which is very doubtful. As it mentioned in the report, all information was obtained from the victims and witnesses of Russian crimes who were at the «ATO» zone but the authors don’t have the officially signed interview «for safety reasons of the victims and witnesses». Not a single fact is presented in the report about the presence of the Russian soldiers. Apart from that, these doubtful statements contradict the data of the official OSCE SMM that is permanently stay on the territory and on the contact line.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic would like to offer the European Parliament members willing to get the real information on the situation in Donbass to use the official and trusted sources or visit the Republic by the invitation of the authorities. In this regard the safety of the guests is guaranteed.
