On Friday, September 20, the chairman of the DPR Representative Center in Marseille, Hubert Fayard, after almost six months of imprisonment, was released from arest by decision of the court of Aix-en-Provence. All those absurd accusations with which the ill-wishers tried to denigrate his honest name were completely removed from him.
We welcome the objectivity and impartiality of French justice, which made this decision of the Aix-en-Provence court possible. The release of Mr. Fayard is extremely significant and joyful news, not only because he is a great friend and like-minded person of the Donetsk People’s Republic, but also in connection with the explicit and unequivocal context that follows from this event. The incident with Hubert Fayard gave a clear understanding - no matter how much pressure the Ukrainian authorities exerted in trying to distort the truthful information about the Donbass disseminated through the DPR centers in Europe, representatives of the French judicial system are not amenable to ridiculous political insinuations and are guided primarily by the principles of the rule of law and law.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People’s Republic, we thank Mr. Fayard for his courage, nobleness and readiness to support the people of Donbass. We are sincerely glad that justice has finally triumphed and Hubert Fayadr can return to his family and friends with a restored good name. We look forward to a speedy visit of our French friend to the Republic in order to develop further cooperation in the framework of his activities as the head of the DPR Representative Center in France.
