The declared intentions of Ukraine to unilaterally open the checkpoint in Zolotoe and repair the bridge in Stanytsa Luganskaya are nothing more than provocations disguised as peace initiatives. In fact the Ukrainian party has been ignoring the ICRC's proposal to restore the bridge in Stanytsa Luganskaya for two years, and establishes new mine barriers in Zolotoe.
Ukrainian negotiators have repeatedly demonstrated their unwillingness to negotiate with us in the framework of Minsk negotiation process - representatives of Kiev block the discussion of all pressing issues, including the withdrawal of military equipment and personnel, as well as reject any Republic's proposals.
At the same time, any actions in the conflict zone must be agreed by both sides – any unilaterla activities near the contact line threaten the lives and health of civilians.
We share the concerns of our colleagues from the brotherly Lugansk People's Republic and call on the OSCE and garantor countries of the Minsk agreements to pay attention to the unacceptable behavior of the Ukrainian party.
We are aimed at a peaceful resolution of the conflict through negotiations with the Ukrainian party. We hope that common sense will prevail, and that everything will work out without bloody provocations for the sake of someone's election ratings.
