Abkhazia delegation visited Donetsk on Republic Day

The official delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia headed by the Prime-Minister Artur Mikvabia visited Donetsk for the participation in the solemn events on the occasion of the Republic Day.

10 May, the foreign guests visited Oktyabrskiy district where they saw the multiple destructions and spoke to the local residents. Artur Mikvabia stressed that despite the ongoing hostilities, even now it’s notable how quickly and effectively the Republic authorities reconstruct the residential buildings and infrastructure objects. Also the delegates laid flowers to the Monument for Donbass civilians-victims established in Leninsky Komsomol Park in summer 2015.

During the visit the foreign guests held a number of working meetings with the Republic authorities. On 11 May, during the reception the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Aleksandr Zakharchenko expressed gratitude to Artur Mikvabia for the support of our state in this challenging period. On the meeting with the Head of the DPR Foreign Policy Natalya Nikonorova the representatives of Abkhazian delegation discussed the ways of strengthening the cooperation of our states.

Jointly with the other delegations and the representatives of the Republic authorities the guests from Abkhazia visited the solemn events – grand march of Donbass citizens on the occasion of the Republic Day and the meeting in Solovyanenko Donetsk National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. All members of the Abkhazian delegation were awarded the Orders of Friendship by the DPR Head who expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation between the countries.

According to the delegations` representatives, the trip to Donetsk left an incredible impression and talks with the Republic citizens – true admiration with their courage and patriotism.
