On December 12, a briefing was held on results of Special Committee activities on recording and collecting the evidence of war crimes of the Ukrainian authorities in Donbass, as well as the presentation of a map of war victims in Donbass.
The briefing was attended by the DPR Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Special Committee on recording and collecting the evidence of war crimes of the Ukrainian authorities in Donbass Natalia Nikonorova and a member of public organization “Fair Protection” Ivan Kopyl.
According to Natalia Nikonorova, Committee has already recorded 13,633 incidents of Kiev’s aggression against residents of Donbass. This figure includes 996 wounded and 546 dead civilians, among them 155 wounded children and 73 killed children.
Natalia Nikonorova also stressed that work is underway to process a single register of socially damaged objects of social sphere and the housing stock of cities and regions of Republic. To date, 12,042 acts have been fully processed. In addition, photo and video evidence is being collected on the destruction of housing stock and infrastructure as a result of shelling by Ukraine — about 4,000 of this evidences have been collected so far.
Ivan Kopyl presented a map of war victims in Donbass, which was created by the members of NGO “Fair Protection” together with the Special Committee. It reflects the areas affected by shelling over the past year. According to the statistics indicated on this map, you can see that in the territory of Republics, as a result of shelling, six times more civilians were injured than in the territory of Donbass, under Ukraine’s control. According to him, it demonstrates that the AFU violates the cease-fire regime. He stressed that such incidents can be qualified from the point of view of international humanitarian law as war crimes.
