On December 23, as part of the working visit of the DPR delegation to Damascus, a number of meetings were held with representatives of Syria’s government.
Thus, the delegates of the Donetsk People's Republic met the Syrian Minister of Culture Lyubana Mshaveh, the Minister of Education Dr. Durham Tabbaa and one of the leaders of the Baath party Dr. Mahdi Dahlallah.
The participants discussed establishment of friendly relations and development of cooperation within the framework of the signed agreement between the "Donetsk Republic" and the Jordanian Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party.
“I consider it a matter of particular importance to establish friendly cultural and economic relations. Taking into account the friendly relations that have developed between us, a special place should be given to cultural exchange" - said the head of the Donetsk delegation, first deputy of the DPR Head Administration Gennady Lebed.
During the conversation with the Minister of Education Dr. Durham Tabbaa, parties discussed proposals for the development of mutual cooperation in the field of culture and education, outlined ways for further work, for example, interaction of children's and youth organizations of the DPR and Syria, the study of the Arabic language by Donetsk students. The question was raised about the possibility of Syria's recognition of DPR diplomas.
During the meeting with Dr. Dahlallah Mahdi, the participants spoke about the visit results, about the relationship between our parties and the possibility of implementing economic projects.
