DONETSK AND DAMASCUS SIGN INTER-PARTY COOPERATION AGREEMENT

On December 19, in Damascus, an Agreement on Interaction and Cooperation was signed between the public movement "Donetsk Republic" and the Party of Arab Socialist Renaissance (BAAS).

Alexey Muratov, head of the central executive committee of the "Donetsk Republic", and Hilal al-Hilal, Deputy General Secretary of the "Baath" party, acted as signatories.

Delegates from the Donetsk People's Republic were also present at the ceremony: First Deputy of the DPR Head Administration Gennady Lebed, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Peresada, Adviser to the DPR Head Andrey Kramar. In addition, deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Dmitry Sablin and Alexander Boroday took part in the signing ceremony as guests of honor.

It should be noted that the signing of the Agreement on Interaction and Cooperation with the most influential political force in Syria, the leader of which is the incumbent President Bashar al-Assad, is the first of its kind and extremely significant step towards rapprochement between two republics.

Within the framework of this Agreement, the parties secured a trusting partnership, as well as their readiness to develop cooperation in a number of areas: information, economic, cultural, educational, humanitarian and other areas of mutual interest. In addition, the document signed today will open up new opportunities for strengthening inter-party ties, exchange of experience in lawmaking and party building.
