Today, Ukrainian armed formations once again shelled the center of Donetsk. As a result, four residents were killed, eight people were injured, among them - the correspondent of the Venezuelan television channel Telesur Alejandro Humberto Svikolos Kirk. He was shrapnel wounded, shell fragments got stuck in his shoulder, our doctors promptly provided him with first aid. Now Alejandro is in the hospital, tomorrow he will have an operation to extract fragments from soft tissues - we hope that the operation will go smoothly. We wish him and all the wounded a speedy recovery and successful rehabilitation.

The Kiev regime again and again demonstrates complete inhumanity, cruelty and meanness, shelling not just a peaceful quarter, but the very heart of Donetsk - Lenin Square, the Glavpochtamt (Main Post Office), the building of the Voroshilovsky district administration. These are places without military bases, ammunition depots or other militarized facilities - ie. Kiev deliberately hits civilians.

Committing such atrocities, Ukrainian punishers demonstrate not only a complete disregard for the concepts of humanity and morality, but also grossly violate all the basic norms of international law: the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and many other. The fact that a representative of the media was injured is especially cynical. After all, international law guarantees him the same rights and the same degree of protection as civilians during an armed conflict. But the Kiev Nazis are deeply indifferent to both international law and the fate of people.

In addition, the cynical shelling, which caused so many casualties among civilians and guests of Donetsk, was carried out with the use of 155-mm NATO artillery gun. Those countries of the “collective West” that supply these weapons to the Kiev regime and otherwise support it are themselves accomplices in the ongoing bloodshed.

These atrocities are nothing more than war crimes without terms limitations, which will certainly be investigated and those responsible for which will be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Including within the framework of the forthcoming international tribunal.

We also intend to do everything possible that as many people around the world as possible know the truth about today's tragedy and real situation in Donbass. We are pleased that in this difficult task of disseminating  the truth, representatives of foreign media are with us. They are ready to do their job even in such dangerous conditions, when an insidious shell of Ukrainian militants can impact at any moment and any place in the Republic.
