Today, on March 7, a round table on the topic "Donbass and Russia: New Cooperation Mechanisms"  was held in the Council of Federation of the Russian Federation Federal Assembly, organized by the Committee of Public Support of the Southeast of Ukraine. The event was attended by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic Natalia Nikonorova.

Reporting on the implementation of the humanitarian program for the reunification of the Donbass people, Natalia Nikonorova noted existence and operating of the hotline and Internet page. Actually, immediately after the announcement of the hotline numbers, many calls were received to the Center of the humanitarian program for reunification of the Donbass people, not only from the inhabitants of Donetsk region, but also from Kharkov, Ternopol, Odessa regions. According to the DPR MFA Head, more than 50 calls are received daily to the hotline. The main citizens’ questions are: one-time payments to veterans of the Second World War, provision of medical services and conditions for admission to higher educational institutions of the Donetsk People's Republic.

The Head of the DPR Foreign Ministry drew particular attention to ensuring the environmental safety of Donbass. Natalia Nikonorova stressed presence of great threat of ecological and technological disasters that may occur for reasons, for example, of improper exploitation of production capacities of the enterprises located in Donetsk region. In this regard, there is an objective need for a joint inspection with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, public and international organizations that will monitor the safety of environmentally unsafe of the enterprises, which are located in the territory of Donbass, temporarily under the control of Ukraine.

"Taking into account that any government should be interested in ensuring safe living conditions and safe environment, we hope that Ukraine will implement international norms, assist and permit access to the critical infrastructure facilities and enterprises. It should be noted, we have already received support from the OSCE for monitoring safety of enterprises located in the territory of Donbass (and the necessary infrastructure for them) through joint inspection - there was an interest in the implementation of our humanitarian program, especially in the field of ecology. This program was presented on March 1 inMinsk at the sitting of groups on resolving the situation in Donbass and immediately was approved by the representative of the OSCE, Mr. Frisch" - said Natalia Nikonorova.
