Natalia Nikonorova has laid floral tributes to the Eternal Flame on the top of Saur-Mogila

Today, on May 8, the Head of the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs Natalia Nikonorova has laid floral tributes to the memorial of the Great Patriotic War soldiers. The Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexandr Zakharchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Head of the DPR Ministry of Revenues and Duties Alexandr Timofeev, Chairman of the DPR People's Council Denis Pushilin, the Head of the DPR Ministry of Defense Vladimir Kononov, DPR Acting Minister of Economic Development Viktoria Romaniuk, DPR Acting Minister of Information Igor Antipov and other heads of the ministries and departments of the Republic.

Laying flowers to the Eternal Flame was held immediately after the rally, in which about 20 thousand people took part. People carried banners, flags of the Republic and fifty-meter St. George ribbon in their hands. The procession was accompanied by music of the war years.

Information: Saur-Mogila memorial complex was opened on the burial mound in 1967. It included a stele 36 meters high and a sculpture of a Soviet soldier. Later here was installed the Eternal Flame in memory of soldiers died during the storming of strategic height during the Second World War. As a result of hostilities in August 2014, the memorial was severe damaged. Later the authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic began restoration work. Solemn events for the Victory Day and the Day of Donbass Liberation are held at Saur-Mogila annually.
