The DPR Head’s first official visit to the Republic of South Ossetia

September 20, 2015, the DPR Head’s first official visit took place to the Republic of South Ossetia. Apart from Aleksandr Zakharchenko, the delegation included: the DPR Foreign Minister Aleksandr Kofman, the DPR Head Administration Chief Maksim Leshenko, the First Deputy DPR Head Administration Chief Maksim Leshenko Dmitriy Trapeznikov.

Within the framework of celebration 25th anniversary from the South Ossetian state formation, a meeting took place between the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Leonid Tibilov and the DPR Head Aleksandr Zakharchenko. The Head of South Ossetia thanked guests and emphasized that South Ossetian people are ready to support struggle of the DPR people for their rights and freedom. Besides, Leonid Kharitonovich stressed that the South Ossetian government is interested in further strengthening and consolidation of all-round cooperation between states.

In his turn, Aleksandr Zakharchenko congratulated South Ossetian people on the great holiday, heralding independence and sovereignty of SouthOssetianRepublic. He also pointed out that despite hundreds of kilometers, separating our states, Donbass people consider South Ossetian people to be spiritual brothers striving for freedom.

At the end of a meeting, Leonid Tibilov presented Aleksandr Zakharchenko Order of Friendship for contribution to the development of relations between fraternal people of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Donetsk People’s Republic; besides, the DPR delegation members were rewarded in connection with 25th anniversary of the South Ossetia independence.
