On March 14, a monstrous tragedy occurred in Donetsk - due to the shelling of the city center by a tactical missile "Tochka-U" from Ukraine, 21 civilians were killed, 37 were injured of varying severity, including a child.
Today mourning has been declared in the Donetsk People's Republic. But we are not alone in our grief – the Russian Federation, the Lugansk People's Republic, the Republic of South Ossetia, the Republic of Abkhazia and many other states mourn together with Donbass.
Thus, the words of condolence and support were expressed by the Head of the Lugansk People's Republic Leonid Pasechnik, the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Anatoliy Bibilov, the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation expressed condolences on behalf of the people and leadership of the country. Heads of the Russia’s entities, including Crimea, Sevastopol, the Krasnodar Territory, the Rostov Region, also supported the people of Donbass in connection with tragedy. Moreover, with quite specific actions: the head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov and the governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratiev proposed taking the victims to sanatorium-and-spa treatment to restore strength and health.
Residents of foreign countries did not stand aside: yesterday and today condolences come from Serbia, Italy, Spain, Germany, Syria, Turkey, the Philippines, Canada, Japan, South Africa, Cambodia, Australia and other countries. It is worth noting the heartfelt and compassionate words that through the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs were addressed to families and friends of the victims from the DPR Representative Offices in Europe. Our like-minded people in Greece, Finland, Belgium, Italy, France are now with Donbass, fully sharing the sorrow and grief.
At the same time, it is important to understand that officials, political, public figures and activists from the countries mentioned above support the Republic not only by expressing condolences. These caring people perform a very important task - through the media, media platforms, social networks and other communication channels, they help us tell the world the truth about what has actually been happening in Donbass for 8 years now, what terrible crimes the Ukrainian government has been committing against civilians, innocent citizens.
We are deeply grateful to all those who stand with us shoulder to shoulder in the struggle to break through the information blockade. And even though now the official authorities and the mainstream media in the West are still continuing their propaganda, broadcasting outright lies from the stands, TV screens and smartphones, we have no doubt that the truth always wins.
