Instead of holding on a productive dialogue, the representatives of Ukraine in the political group continue to sabotage the discussion on the main issue of the agenda - the compromise procedure for the entry into force of the law on Donbass special status.
It is worth noting that the need for the Steinmeier’s formula appeared only because of Ukraine’s failure to fulfill its obligations under the Complex of measures, according to which the special status of Donbass should have been on regular basis in March 2015. The Republics agreed to this compromise, thus showing their commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict. However, we do not see the slightest desire to finally start fulfilling our political obligations neither from the representatives of Ukraine in Minsk nor from the president of Ukraine, who regularly speaks about non-implementation the law on Donbass special status. At the same time, the Ukrainian negotiators did not provide an adequate response to our call to explain this statement of the country's leader.
The DPR Plenipotentiary noted that the granting of a special status to Donbass is the foundation of a political settlement prescribed in the Complex of measures. Kiev representatives need to stop sabotage as soon as possible and begin joint work with Republics on the implementation of Steinmeier’s formula.
