On April 26, 2017 a sitting of the political group on the resolving of the conflict in Donbass took place in Minsk. The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR Natalia Nikonorova took part in negotiations.
"Another round of negotiations of the group on political issues in Minsk showed the inconsistency of Ukraine’s representatives not only in fulfilling their obligations, but also in the matter of the elementary logic of their negotiating position.
We still insist on the enactment of Law on the special status of our territories as the first priority issue according to the Package of Measures. Realizing that the entry into force of this Law is the basis for discussing all issues on the political level, Ukrainian party continues deliberately to sabotage the discussion of this topic.
Kiev tries to find alternative formats, perceiving the meetings of the "Normandy format" as a chance to avoid negotiations with Republics’ representatives, and to shift responsibility for the implementation of Minsk agreements to non-participating states.
Ukraine’s representatives continue to delay negotiations, using for this purpose all available tools, starting with the disavowal of the agreements reached earlier and ending with a demonstrative misunderstanding of the language on which the negotiation process is held. It is obvious that the main priority of the Minsk process for both parties is the saving of lives and peace restoration in Donbass. Therefore, we call the representatives of Ukraine immediately to start comprehensive and accurate implementation of Package of Measures as the only way to resolve the conflict peacefully in Donbass "- Natalia Nikonorova about the results of the meeting of the political group.
