On July 5, 2017 a sitting of the political group on the resolving of the conflict in Donbass took place in Minsk. The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR Natalia Nikonorova took part in negotiations.
"Today's round of negotiations has not brought any significant results on political issues. Our representatives, ignoring the proposals, based on the Package of Measures, international law and the compromises agreed by the Normandy format representatives, provide us with their own, unsubstantiated interpretation of the Minsk agreements.
The current agenda, which was repeatedly confirmed by the Contact group and containing the fundamental point - compromise procedure for the entry into force of the law on the special status of our territories, is reasonable and corresponds to the sequence of implementation of the Package of Measures items. Moreover, the discussion of other issues without the understanding and consolidation of jointly adopted decisions on the effect of legislation on the special status of Donbass will contradict the very logic of the Minsk agreements. Avoiding the discussion of granting a special status to our territories is nothing more than the intentional Kiev's denial to fulfill its obligations. Unfortunately, the mechanism, confirmed twice at the level of the Normandy format leaders, including Ukraine, does not find support and approval by the Ukraine's representatives at the level of the working group. Such a destructive position does not allow us to talk about the real intentions of Kiev to resolve the conflict by diplomatic means.
In the absence of clear political agreed prospects by the parties, issues in other areas does not have a stable basis and are not long-term. Thus, we demand from the Ukraine’s representatives to start the constructive and consistent discussion of political package of the Minsk agreements, on which depends the fate of thousands Donbass residents"- Natalia Nikonorova about the sitting of the group on political issues.
