The first sitting of the working group on political issues this year, unfortunately, did not lead to any progress.
The Ukrainian party continues to ignore instructions of the OSCE coordinator on the provision of its official written positions on agenda items - first of all, on the implementation of a compromise mechanism for the enactment into force of the law on Donbass special status and the amnesty implementation.
Such a frank sabotage of the negotiation process by Kiev is the main reason why a work of political group is actually blocked. And this is despite the fact that Republics have taken and continue to take all possible steps to unblock the negotiations. In particular, at today's sitting we proposed for discussion a number of practical questions concerning the implementation of Steinmeier’s formula.
Today the additional time was allocated for discussion in a less formal form as another attempt to somehow contribute to unblocking the negotiations. However, the Ukraine’s representatives refused to discuss the issues proposed by us and ignored the prerogative of additional time, without putting forward any constructive and relevant agenda arguments in response.
The DPR Plenipotentiary once again stressed the need to resume full-fledged work of a political group and to comply with the approved political agenda from Kiev, since only in this case it will be possible to rely on a long-term and stable settlement of Donbass conflict.
