In a course of security group discussion the DPR Plenipotentiary once again emphasized the importance of continuing work on a consolidated addendum to the measures to strengthen the ceasefire.
At the same time, Natalia Nikonorova noted that over the past three weeks, the number of shelling has decreased, even some periods of silence were recorded.
DPR Plenipotentiary clarified: “Like the OSCE Mission, we note that during the reporting period between meetings, the number of AFU attacks has significantly decreased, which once again demonstrates the ability of the Ukrainian leadership to control its armed formations if necessary.
Omitting the reasons for this need, we regard this as a clear signal to finalize the addition to the current version of the Measures to strengthen the ceasefire regime, which will make it possible to concretize the work of the coordination mechanism in terms of verification and prevent new violations and consolidate the role of the JCCC in the current composition."
At each meeting, negotiators from the Republics insist on such substantive elaboration, while proposing various efficient and practical options. In response, representatives of the official Kiev reject all our proposals, not offering any alternative methods to reduce the escalation. “Your proposal does not suit us, but we have no others except to leave everything as it is,” is the standard position of the official Kiev.
